Making room within oneself and beginning to see the limits of one's discipline, jumping from physics to medicine, politics, geography, psychology, biology, neurology, chemistry, linguistics, anthropology, etc.

No ... no ... no ... they are all structures that connect, they are all connected.
When you see that there are connections you can't do without them anymore.
Seeing links means that your world map is expanding, opening ... not a good experience, mind you, forget it.
At first it is a horrible experience.
At the beginning I knew four things!

Because knowledge opens up ever greater margins of ignorance in the beginning.
When we begin to know we do not find greater security ... the margins of our insecurity increase.
When you begin to enter a system in which one thing is connected to another, another to another ... etc. you are no longer safe.
You find yourself more ignorant.
Perhaps this is why Socrates knew he did not know.
He had the ability to see connections and first of all reveal his own ignorance to himself.
The process of knowledge is not an easy process.
The first thing that gives you back is your ignorance, it gives you more and more margins of ignorance that is why it is difficult to resist.
This is why we become fond of our little knowledge even when we look at the mirror.
We become attached to our identity.
